Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris – Is this enough to hold you over?

Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris – Is this enough to hold you over?

Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris is the upcoming expansion pack for the developers who brought you Halo, which celebrated 16 years on November 15th. As I was watching Bungie’s stream, the first of three, I was trying to gauge how excited I was about the upcoming expansion and the verdict – I need to see more.

We saw an epic trailer with Osiris (Oded Fehr), his female ghost (Morena Baccarin), we witnessed his dawn blade skills, his cube teleporter, armor set and walked through the modified lighthouse. As I watched, I even wondered if they were running the presentation on a PC or console. It really doesn’t matter to me – at least. The bottom line is that this Guardian is a bad dude and I wouldn’t want to mess with him in a firefight.

During the stream, Bungie talked about the upcoming 6-player raid type called ‘Raid Lair’. This challenging mini-raid is called ‘Leviathan Eater of Worlds’. What is Eater of Worlds? Well, it’s another planet eating ship where the action and dying sessions happen on the lower level – have fun.  Bungie is listening pretty closely to the community and if you have any Destiny friends they’ll tell you that the Calus raid is a pain. If you’re doing it blindly you have to set 6+ hours or more just to get somewhere. The coordination that it takes to get anything done can be overwhelming to those attempting the raid or those still struggling with the mechanics. Also, heroic strikes have their own playlist and Power level is going up to 335 overall, 300 for the Raid lair shenanigans.

Is Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris enough? Will it hold the guardians until spring? I saw a big drop off of online activity from my die-hard guardian colleagues. It’s new, fresh and they are letting you discover lost sectors on your own after you finish the campaign. Don’t get me wrong, there is a lot to look forward to but I do feel that I’m treading softly. Where do you stand with the upcoming DLC?
